Body Time, Pioneer in “Green Beauty” Launches new Botanical Body Lotion

Body Time, a leader in the green movement, was also the first in the bath and beauty industry to encourage customers to bring back bottles for a refill and a discount. Body Time, the original Body Shop opened in 1970 by sisters-in-law, Peggy Short and Jane Saunders set the stage for what is known as the natural, organic bath and body product industry. Today Peggy Short’s daughter Manda Heron is owner and CEO and remains true to Body Time’s original ideals.

Body Time specializes in sustainable and organically produced personal care products for the body, face, hair and lips. Body Time also offers clients a range of Unscented Products, perfect for those with sensitive skin and with over sixty-five essential oils, perfumes and essential oil blends that are ideal for Custom Scenting.
New to Body Time’s earth friendly botanical line is the Replenishing Vitamin C Body Lotion made from the highest quality ingredients, many of them certified organic and locally grown. This powerful combination of pure extracts and eight essential oils protects your skin from the damaging effects of overexposure to sun and wind as well as airborne pollutants and irritants. Rich in antioxidants, Vitamin C aids the immune system, helps heal wounds, moisturizes, speeds up collagen production, combats wrinkles and neutralizes free radicals.

“I would recommend this intoxicatingly fragrant lotion to men and women of all ages and skin types” says Manda. “Everyone who has tried it wants more! I have never had such a positive response to a product.”
Body Time’s Replenishing Vitamin C Body Lotion has pronounced toning and firming effects on the skin, as well as treatment for aging, tired skin and age spots. Active ingredients include; Aloe Vera, which is effective against premature aging of the skin, Comfrey root extract which can speed up the healing of damaged skin and Jasmine flower oil particularly suited for treating dry, sensitive and sore skin. The travel-friendly 2 oz bottle retails for $10.00 while the 8.3 oz bottle retails for $32.50.

The Power of Pink- A Fashion Fundrasier Celebrating the Lives of Those Touched by Breast Cancer

I was inspired to have this event for personal reasons. I have recently lost someone to Breast Cancer. Along the way have met many generous people who are just as passionate and compassionate about the cause as I am. With the help of over 100 business, designers, volunteers and surviviors The Power of Pink has become an amazing reality and a celebration for more than just Anne.

Friday, January 23rd 2009 Bay Area fashion pr firm Avant Garde Public Relations hosts The Power of Pink, an evening of fashion, beauty, music and art.

Shop for a cause at the Shopping Soirée featuring: luxe leather handbags by Bryna Nicole, flirty jewelry by Frolick, unique scarves by Harlequin Feltworks, gorgeous jackets by Juleselin and ready-to-wear and couture by Verrieres and Sako. VIP guests are invited to shop early at the Pre-party. They will also have access to two private rooms including the Pamper Party and receive a limited edition gift bag filled with beauty products by Maris, Live Energy Drink, Popchips and more.

The Power of Pink will be held at Sausalito’s art gallery Studio 333. In this chic loft guests will groove to beats provided by, sip on Pearl Vodka cocktails and Grown Up Soda and nibble on bites provided by Taste of Paradise Catering and Little Piggy Cupcakes. All proceeds from this event will benefit the American Cancer Society. As the nation’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the fight against cancer, the American Cancer Society has invested more funding in breast cancer research grants over time than any other voluntary public health organization – $352 million since 1972. In fact, Society-funded cutting-edge research led to the discovery of lifesaving treatments like Tamoxifen and Herceptin and it was the American Cancer Society that established mammography as the gold standard for the early detection of breast cancer. The Society also supports the fight against breast cancer through free support services such as Reach to Recovery, which matches newly diagnosed breast cancer patients with survivors who can guide them through their journey with the disease; and the nation’s only 24-hour cancer hotline (1-800-ACS-2345), where people fighting cancer can turn anytime, day or night to talk to a Cancer Information Specialist for support, information and guidance. The Society additionally advocates for public policies to guarantee all women access to mammograms and breast cancer treatment, regardless of income. For more information about breast cancer resources and information, call the American Cancer Society at (1-800-ACS-2345) or visit
